Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ShiokFit Pte Ltd ("ShiokFit", "we", "us") handles data in the ShiokFit mobile application (the "App") and on this website. We are a Singapore-incorporated company and comply with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

The short version: we do not collect your personal data. ShiokFit has no accounts, no login, and no server-side database of users. Everything you enter or sync stays on your device.

1. Data stored on your device only

The following data is created and stored locally on your phone, and is never transmitted to us:

3. Health data

Access to Apple Health and Health Connect is optional and controlled entirely by you. Permissions are requested through iOS and Android's own consent screens, are used solely to power the App's core features (your live energy ledger and workout calculations), and can be revoked at any time in your device settings. Health data is read and processed on-device only.

4. The food database

The App downloads its curated food database (nutrition data for packaged foods, USDA items, and local Singaporean dishes) from our backend, which runs on Google Firebase. This is one-way content delivery — your device reads the database; nothing about you is written back. As with any internet service, these requests involve standard technical information (such as an IP address) handled by Google's infrastructure to deliver the content.

5. Subscriptions

Trials and subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play). Payment is processed by them under their own privacy policies — we never see your payment details or store account identity. The App only receives an anonymous entitlement status confirming whether a subscription is active.

6. Diagnostics

To keep the App reliable, anonymised crash reports and basic technical diagnostics may be processed. These contain no food logs, health data, or profile details and cannot be used to identify you.

7. Deleting your data

Your data lives on your device, so deletion is entirely in your hands: deleting the App from your phone deletes your data with it. Nothing remains with us afterwards, because nothing was ever sent to us. There is no account to close and no server record to erase.

8. Children

ShiokFit is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.

9. Your rights

Under the PDPA you may access, correct, or delete your personal data and withdraw consent to its use. Because your data is stored only on your device, you exercise these rights directly: your profile and logs are visible and editable in the App, health permissions can be revoked in your device settings, and deleting the App removes everything. 10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy — in particular, if any future feature would ever involve transmitting user data off-device — we will update this page and clearly notify you in the App before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
